bangs, baking soda, and transformers

today, i got myself some bangs.  it's completely impractical and unreasonable, as living in a humid, tropical climate is pretty much the same thing as a death sentence for beautiful bangs.  but i did it anyway and i love it.

the haircut also marked the first time i'd used shampoo on my hair in approximately two months.  i've recently turned to the 'no poo' movement and have been washing my hair with baking soda dissolved in water. after a rough first few weeks, wherein i didn't really know how to do it all properly, it's been a smooth ride for a good while now.  washing my hair twice per week saves me so much time and the oils in my scalp have nearly entirely equalized.  you can read that as: no oily hair.  not even when i don't wash it for three days.

so i'm a bit interested to see what this one instance of shampoo does my pH balanced hair. the stylist shared that the shampoo and conditioner used is natural and synthetic free, which was a big part of why i went 'no poo' in the first place, so perhaps that will ease any slipping back in hair needing shampoo.

finally, i've said it for years now, but honestly, it's so hard for me to root for shia lebouf in transformers 3 because of the disappearance of megan fox.  clearly, the part was written for her (hello, working to restore CARS?!)  i'm all for teaching people a lesson, and i take it she said some quite terrible, nasty things about producers/director, but the movie really suffered.  i freely admit that i loved the first two, and i'd love the third one, if only megan fox were in it.  i just can't get past it, and it makes me so sad every time the movie shows on asian hbo.  i want to get over it, but i can't.

i just can't.
