I am currently in Pittsburgh. The hubs is guarding the home and hearth (and pup.) I am working. A lot. (Which is why I have yet to post this week OR comment on vloggies from last week- soon, I promise!)
Hokay, so.
I am in Pittsburgh through Saturday. I think I like Pittsburgh. I think it gets a bad rap.
Also, for a town built on the backs of steel barons, the majority of down town buildings feature lots of gorgeous glass.
Ironic (doncha think?)
I took a little stroll as a break today. I didn't take pictures because I was trying to avoid being touristy (because slowing down every few feet to look UP and decide to go left or right isn't touristy AT ALL.)
I am staying in a wonderful hotel, and they even let me check in early.
Here are my only two sad things.
I went out to buy lunches to store in my mini fridge, as the work I'll be doing doesn't allow much time to get food.
Funny thing is, I forgot to check if I had a mini fridge.
I don't. So now my mini lunchables in are in a plastic sack on top of lots of ice.
Other thing is that I am in a room that adjoins to another one. Which was all fine and dandy until seven PM tonight. There are two girls in there. They are loud. As in, I can hear them right now, and I have the television on AND I'm typing. With purpose.
Le sigh.
Hope your week is going swell!
Eeee! I live in Pittsburgh and have a mildly embarrassing form of star-struckedness washing over me as we speak. Sorry to hear about the cruddy accommodations, but not sorry to hear you're in the Steel City!
ReplyDeleteAw dude, that sucks! Any way you can see if they have any mini fridges in their suits that they can bring you? Or is that more work than it's worth?
ReplyDeleteI'd complain about the noise and see if they can move you to a suite with a mini fridge. Works for my MIL!
ReplyDeleteI grew up near Pittsburgh. It's a decent city, although I guess you won't get to experience much of it since you are working. Maybe you can at least grab a Primanti Bros sandwich for a meal?
Girl! Whatcha doing in my wedding locale? Do you need any recommendations for places to eat?!
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience with thin hotel walls/doors in Michigan a few years ago.. ::shiver::. It sucked.
ReplyDeleteBut.. that building is amazing!! Never been to Pittsburgh but it sounds prettier than I imagined, as well :) Hope your trip gets better..
Aww. Hope your neighbors pipe down!
ReplyDeleteHaha "typing with purpose". Show those girls how angry you are! ;) Sorry to hear about the sucky room situation though, and that you're away from home and Boomer (ah, and Chris). Hang in there! I'll buy you ice cream when you get back! Oh wait, we're supposed to be eating healthy. Right. I'll buy you... some broccoli?
ReplyDeleteBummer, hope those chicks next door calm down for you! :/
ReplyDeleteBummer, hope those chicks next door calm down for you! :/
ReplyDeleteYou're so much closer to me now! Hope in a car & drive 6 hours west and we can meet!
ReplyDeleteHope you have fun & the girls next door quiet down!
My husband spent a month in Pittsburgh and really liked it.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your trip went well! You know I love the Burgh :) Glad you liked it more than most!
