Vloggity Friday: FUN WITH LITERATURE

Hooray for Vloggy Vlog Vlog Fridays!

This week, you get to hear about my favoritest books AND my literary husband.  When I told Toph the prompt, he said, "it's Ronald Weasley, right?"

Lil' scamp knows me too well.

In fact, my desired husband from literature is a conglomerate of the two men below:

What of it?

I really thought I'd be able to talk about books in less than five minutes. I'm such a NERD.

Join us next week as we link up with Vlog of the Month Club:
  • Feel free to rant about something that fires you up.

Did you join in this week? Comment below and let me know so I can link to your wonderful vlog!

We Vlog Friday (most of us, sometimes.) Do you?

Even if you don't vlog, tell me:

What is your favorite book and who is your literary spouse?

  1. Pride and prejudice eh? I have it, and I've read the first 2 or 3 chapters a couple of times, but I never seem to 'get in to it'. I keep trying to force myself because so many people love it--I figure it HAS to be good. You just gave me a reason to try again!

  2. Ah! I was sooo close to choosing Mr. Darcy! That may have something to do with the fact that he's played by Colin Firth in the movie. Yum.

Your mom has good taste in books, it must have rubbed off on you. :)

I never read the high school books... except Mice and Men and Crabbe.

I haven't read any of your choices - Harry Potter... is next, I am so ashamed that I haven't read it that it just must be done!

  4. I need to read The Great Gatsby again.. I wasn't a fan when I read it in HS, I think because I had to bang the whole thing out (that's what she said) in a day. Now that I can enjoy it, I neeeed to reread it.

Need to read Pride & Prejudice also. Ashamed I haven't yet!

By the way.. so happy someone else waited in line for the new HP books like yours truly. The night I met Scot I had to leave early to get the 7th book ;)

  5. My favourite book of all time is Memoirs of a Geisha, just love the detail in it.
I've got the other books you said on my reading list, we seemed to do different ones in school!

As for my literary spouse, it would be Laurie from Little Women.

  6. I honestly have no idea what literary character I would marry! Good question.....I'll have to think about it.

  7. What an awesome prompt. I am ridiculously book obsessed. I still love to read Harry Potter. I went through so many "book crush" phases, but I honestly can't remember them now because in high school I started reading all classic lit, and let's face it - most of those stories didn't end too well.

  8. I never had to read The Great Gatsby in school. I've always meant to read it and never did for some reason. Definitely going to give it a shot sooner than later.

  9. I hate admitting this, but I have never read Pride and Prejudice. I fail at life. How did I miss that one in my high school days of lit?

Anyway, I love that you'd marry Ron Weasley. He definitely DOES come together in the end of the series, so I'm totally seeing where you're coming from on that!

I also love that you have multiple copies/editions of books - how fun! My family was on a trip to Europe the summer that the 5th Harry Potter book came out, and I picked up a copy of the British edition when I was in London. The cover is completely different, and some of the terms too ("lift" instead of elevator, etc.)! I am kind of wishing that I had picked up all 5 books that were out at the time, but I definitely didn't have enough space in my suitcase/carry-on to lug those through all of Europe for a month!

  10. okay so pride and prejudice is moved out of the amazon wish list and into my cart, Seeing as though I havent heard a negative thing about her writing.

Maybe I should read The great gatsby too. I read the spark notes on it in high school...mhm.

Good pick with Ron! His accent in the movies is what captures my heart ;)
