I had to prove myself somehow.
Plus, he said, "what's for dessert?"
That's how bad decisions start, btw.
So, I tried to take the same approach to my baking. What did I have in the cupboards or fridge? Cream cheese was there, but I didn't have the whipped cream needed to make the easy, yummy no bake cheese cake type items. Topher pointed out that we did have chocolate chips.
So I tried this new recipe. I'm on the fence about it- it's good, moist, and all but I'm just not sure. Of course, as soon as I made it I noticed that there were a few negative reactions to the recipe. It was pretty good though, especially after I added the extra ounce of cream cheese.
Yum.
Mix the cream cheese, butter and sugar.
Add the eggs and vanilla.
Fold in the flour...
...then add the chocolate chips.
Bake and enjoy.
They'll be super light, so check the bottoms!
Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies
4 ounces cream cheese, room temp
2 sticks butter, room temp
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces chocolate chips
Mix the cream cheese, butter and sugar on high until blended. Add the eggs and vanilla until blended. Fold in the flour and salt, then add the chocolate chips. Spoon and bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. They will be super light in color so don't over bake.
Hmm, any particular reason why you were on the fence? They sounds really good! I'm kind of a sucker for cream cheese anything!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your on the fly baking skillz! They sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tiffany - why were you on the fence? How did they taste? They look pretty good. Is there a reason for the cream cheese addition?
ReplyDeletethey look great! i love anything with cream cheese.
ReplyDelete@Tiffany and MayLove: I was on the fence because the batter was creamier than the cookies. On second taste, this morning for breakfast, they were very creamy and good.
ReplyDeleteMaylove- the cream cheese was added because I had cream cheese and chocolate chips and searched specifically for a recipe including the two, as noted above.
I hardly ever have chocolate chips in the house but conveniently, I do this week. Hmmm
ReplyDeleteOoh! Cream cheese was on mega sale at our grocery store last week so I bought four boxes thinking "I will certainly be able to come up with a recipe for these". Ta da! You just did it for me :D Thanks for sharing, can't wait to try 'em - I love desserts with cream cheese!
ReplyDeleteYummmmmmmm.....I love gooey goodness Tuesday.... :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, these look amazing. I never thought of combining cream cheese with chocolate. And now I'm kicking myself.
