happening lately

this week, i had one of those moments where you stop and realize why you're doing something.

because this week, my teacher trainees did the teaching, using critical thinking to argue the best way to grade writing...

...eventually realizing that every method has it's positives and drawbacks. critical thinking people.

this week, i got to eat a delicious hamburger, surrounded by holiday decorations.

this week, my magnanimous husband suggested that we head to the movie theater to see breaking dawn.

this week, as we entered the movie theather, topher said "it's only part one? what's this?!"

this week, topher and i were the only living beings watching breaking dawn, part one in the "happy" movie theater on thursday evening.

this week, our illustrious country director invited those of us in town for some meetings to attend a family holiday gathering on the grounds of the u.s. embassy.

this week, i got to eat my first- and likely only- candy cane of the season.  it was strawberry and delightful!

this week, the "embassy singers" sang home for the holidays as a cruel and not very ironic, actually, joke at the embassy party.

this week, life rocked.

edited to add: this week, i also got giardia.  it still rocked, though, despite the parasite-causing diarrhea! cheers!
