Past the Paradigm of Pretty: Make Up Less Kate

I've been contemplating doing this for a while now, and so I've decided to put myself out there in hopes of inspiring other bloggers to join me and others before who are moving past the paradigm of "pretty."

We're all beautiful with or without makeup. I admit, I love how makeup makes me feel sexier, sassier and just downright ready to face the world.

Do we really need it?  I always cringe when I see women apologize for their bare faces. Why apologize? Makeup only enhances, it doesn't create (airbrushing does, but that's another story.)

So, for your viewing Thursday pleasure, here I am, in all my glory, sans makeup.

That last one is because Boomer loves me, makeup or no makeup.

Also, while viewing this in preview, I realize that it appears that I'm also bare everywhere. I'm wearing a pale pink tank top, my jammers. Please don't think I'm trying to seduce you.

Move past the paradigm and post a picture of your pretty face, bare, on your blog!

Others joining in:

Katie at Ruffles and Truffles
Carly at The Less Than Domestic Goddess

Edited to add: Don't forget to vlog tonight and join us for Vlog Fridays tomorrow! The prompt is to tell the world about that moment when you felt you were an adult.

  1. You're beautiful, Kate, with or without makeup. Good for you, for doing this.. I've definitely thought about it, but am unsure if I have the lady-balls to do it. Maybe one day ;)

Although I WILL be participating in vlog Friday tomorrow!

  2. 1) You're so cute! 2) I really like your glasses, 3) I definitely thought you were naked/wearing just a bra (ha!), 4) I hate when people apologize for no makeup faces too! You definitely don't need to, you're lovely!

  11. You & Katie are beautiful inside and out- you are both a couple of incredibly charming ladies, and I'm so glad that we can still follow your adventures. I'm doing the reverse- I generally don't wear makeup, not even powder, and have actually been making an effort to make up my face when hubby and I go out, but he prefers au natural- zits and all! :)

    PS- Love Boomer!
